I've been in the US almost 15 years and I have no idea what a cootie catcher is! I think in the UK we call it a fortune teller. Is it the paper thing you put your fingers in, open and close, then lift up a corner to reveal a piece of advice?

Hahaha--YES! And here in the U.S., the name is regional. Some people grew up making "cootie catchers" and some people grew up making "fortune tellers." They're the same thing.

I loved seeing the true line of your activism from the 80s until now!

I also liked your talking about how you handed things out then and now. You are so right that it does take some courage to hand things to people directly. Our event is surreptitiously put a bowl of something out.

You’re also right that doing it changes you, and makes you just a little bit bolder for the next time!

Just doing either one would be a good exercise for all of us!

I engage in a lot of activism, and yet doing this does make me nervous.

Almost more so than standing up in front of a room of 200 people to speak!

Yes, isn't that interesting. The one-on-one interaction does take more courage!

Wow, that stunt in the 80’s makes you sound like a real Moral Bully. 😉

Also, for anyone reading this, David was also in the Radical Student Union back then and his remark is kind of an inside joke from that time!
