Welcome!
My name is Sarah Bush and I’m a mixed media and installation artist living in Taos, New Mexico—I’m so glad you’re here!
What IS The Pink Teacup?
The Pink Teacup is my imaginary cafe where we can drink coffee all day and talk for hours about art, life, and why it all matters.
The coffee mugs are a quirky collection of chipped vintage cups, the cutlery is all from yard sales and the curtains in the window have pom poms. You have to go up to the front to get any service and the woman behind the counter is friendly but a little hung over. No matter! The cardamom cake is excellent.
What will we talk about?
Art and the Creative Process: Mine, yours and theirs.
Big Art Questions: Why do we create? What does it mean to see? What is the role of art in contemporary culture? What does it mean to be “fully expressed?” Can contemporary art serve humanity in big ways the way it used to—connecting us to magic and nature and the divine?
The Imagination: What IS it really and how is it our human superpower?
Big Life Questions: Why are we here, and what IS this cycle of life thing all about? What does it mean to be “all in” with one’s life? How do we deeply connect with time, nature, love and joy? And how would that connect to our art, creativity, expression?
This newsletter helps me connect with people like you—fellow art makers or art lovers; spiritual seekers and nature worshipers; lovers of the big mystery who are open to making good magic, and finally, anyone who believes—or wants to believe—in endless possibility.
I deeply appreciate all my free and paid subscribers! When you become a paid subscriber, you help make this newsletter possible and strengthen The Pink Teacup community. If you enjoy this newsletter or find it beneficial, I’d be honored if you’d become a paid subscriber. Right now, a subscription is 36.00/year—that’s only 3.00/month.!

More About Me
I live with my husband in Taos, NM with the spirits of our very emotional pit bull, Lucy Loo the Pittie Boo, and our beloved-beloved tabby cat, Kitty Girl Johnson.
I received an MFA in fiber art in the early nineties, and since then, my creative life has been varied—I had a bespoke clothing line with another artist right out of grad school where I printed all the fabric and she sewed all the clothes; I then had my own jewelry and stationery lines that I sold to boutiques, museum stores and high end bookstores; I’ve also worked for companies in Manhattan where I designed or developed products for home decor and personal accessories; I was a designer and design director for a start up where I created hundreds of ‘high end’ craft projects for their stores; and I’ve also been a creativity coach and have given talks all over the northeast as well as a couple at SXSWedu before finally working full-time on my art.
These days, I spend most of my time trying to make better art, build a better garden, have adventures, and most importantly, connect more deeply to Gaia, the soul of the world.
