Hi Sarah, I’m so sorry to miss the workshop, as I’ll be camping in SE Utah (yay!). Any chance you’ll record the session? I understand that it’s designed to be interactive and that watching a recording might be less than ideal. Thanks for all you do!
This is such an interesting concept: "Yes, and." At first I felt resistance to this because I've said yes to everything so much, I lost myself in the process.
But, what I think you're saying is "Yes," I'll join in this playful activity as it fuels my creativity "AND" we connect as a community uplifting one another.
That feels like pure joy to me.
I have always wanted to try improv but the unknown makes me hesitate.
YES, I'm going to come to your event AND I'm going to bring a bunch of supplies.
Won't think about what I'm creating too much. I'm going to improv!❤️
I love this Janine. I was thinking, as I wrote this, that a lot of women struggle to say no but it's a different thing. And in our culture, all the dramatic arts are built on conflict. So it's interesting to experience the challenge of saying "yes, and" to whatever you start creating. Maybe it's clearer to say it's about saying "yes" to yourself. And, as I write this, I think, when we women so often say yes to others so they don't get mad at us, that is a negation actually. That is the nuance part of all the ways we say no--we say no to ourselves when we say yes when we shouldn't.
OH! Also, the "and" is a very important part of "Yes, And"--Yes, I will come to the meeting, AND I will be thirty minutes late because...I just will..." ;)
Oh I just saw Teyani’s comment and I want to say “meeeeeeeeoooooowwww” too! 😊
Meowwwwww!
Hahahaha! That was fun! 😊
Is it legit to hit “like” on my own comment? Because I just did!
hahahahahahaha--but of course!
YES! I love this idea that learning to say “yes” in improv can be extended to other areas of creativity and to life writ large.
(I have always wanted to say “writ large” somewhere.)
Yay! "Yes and" is a world view!
Meeeeeooooowww❣️
:D
I like this version of "Yes!"

Darn, but camping in Utah sounds dreamy! I probably won’t record it but if people are into it, maybe we’ll do another one!

Very true! Every yes we say to others that isn't aligned for our highest and best good, closes space for us to say yes to ourselves.
I like it!

You're creating a flexible and sacred space!❤️
Come when and as you are!
YES!
Such an insightful and compelling essay!
🙏🙏🙏
Oh thank you James! <3
