I'm glad I drafted my blog for tomorrow (scorchedeyebrowstudio.wordpress.com) before I read this. I can claim my fear as my own and not anything suggested by you, my friend. I agree that we need to stop drinking the stuff that serves only to make us sick. Love you!!!
Hahaha--I have felt that exact same way--"No really, I wrote this before I read that!" We're on the same wavelength good friend! Here's to our sanity in this election season...and beyond! <3
So glad you are interested! I'm sending out an email with the zoom info on Sunday evening or Monday. To get the email, just pop your email address into the form here and feel free to share this link: https://lightacandlefordemocracy.com/
Yes, Sarah, it's so difficult to balance the responsible act of being an informed citizen of the world with protecting one's mental health (especially when you have an over-active imagination like me!). I absolutely cannot take in world news during the evening as it stops me sleeping.
I and many others in the U.K. feel for you good-hearted, left-leaning Americans having to go through the trauma of this difficult election situation and of course the results will affect us everywhere.
Keep lighting your candles and putting up your beautiful posters and take great care of your precious serenity and creativity.
I can think of one person similar who instilled fear and I don’t see much difference. I will light my candle on the 4 th with you to see a good and positive outcome for good and positivity and compassion in our country not fear based. Your contribution with your artwork is so beautiful. Thank you
Sarah, this is such a beautiful and powerful piece (and I love your activist art!!). I've learned that disconnecting from fear and toxicity is necessary for my wellbeing. I essentially went cold turkey on most media about seven + years ago during the last round of *this* and now tightly titrate what I allow in. As a former media junkie and entirely overeducated (i.e., indoctrinated), I had always held tight to the belief that I must be "informed", so letting go felt really counter-cultural. I'm so much more grounded and at peace as a result. (You might be interested in my most recent piece where I share my way of navigating our current scene: https://open.substack.com/pub/splashed/p/radical-love-and-reciprocity-natures?r=2cc9mz&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web). Thank you for sharing.
Ah, thank you Wendy! I notice my response to political turmoil is to 'overinform' myself, so I appreciate that you get that. And after a certain point, the information stops helping or serving any good purpose. And I will definitely check out your substack post on this issue--thank you for sharing!
Your comments about fear are so true... worldwide, we are being fed fear and it's disconcerting that's for sure. I always appreciate your writings here Sarah, thank you. Much gratitude for your honesty.

Thank you Nancy! And fear becomes an actual presence, which is why it's so important to not feed it blindly...because it's such a greedy gobbler!
